SUMMER WEDDING TRENDS WE LOVE SEEING!
There’s something undeniably magical about summer weddings at The Cottage at Woodland Farm. When the days stretch long and the flowers are in full bloom, our little corner of the countryside becomes a warm, nostalgic daydream. With its eclectic vintage touches, quiet farm charm, and “cottagecore” vibes, our venue lends itself beautifully to summer celebrations that feel as heartfelt as they are aesthetic. Here are a few favorite ideas and trends we’ve seen (and hope to see more of!) that truly complement the feel of The Cottage during the sunniest season of the year.
Thrifted Touches & Coffee Carts
One of our recent weddings brought in an idea we fell in love with… thrifted coffee mugs as party favors. Each guest chose a mug that spoke to them from a charming mix-and-match display, and then filled it at a full-service coffee cart during cocktail hour. Not only was it a sweet and sustainable favor, it also gave guests something to sip from and something to keep. It was cozy, clever, and felt like it could’ve been plucked from a storybook.
DIY Florals with Local Blooms
For couples staying on-site in the bridal cottage, there's the opportunity to stretch the wedding celebration into a full weekend experience. Another highly-encouraged trend we love is going to the nearby flower farm we are partnered with, Engelbrecht Farm (when in season) to pick out buckets of vibrant, locally-grown blooms. Your wedding party can spend the evening building bouquets together, music playing & enjoying eachother’s company. It isn’t just budget-friendly, it is making memories with your favorite people.

Cottagecore Tablescapes
There’s no rulebook here! Just creativity and charm. We love seeing tabletops layered with vintage glassware, mis-matched china, embroidered napkins, and fresh herbs tucked into place settings. Handwritten menus, delicate lace runners, and soft candlelight (in everything from brass candlesticks to jam jars) make the meal feel like it’s taking place in an old countryside novel. If it’s dreamy, nostalgic, and just a little imperfect, it fits right in.
Whimsical Fashion & Color Palettes
Summer is the season of movement and light, and dresses that float with every breeze feel right at home here. Think floral patterns, puff sleeves, gauzy skirts, and shades that pull from the garden. For grooms and guests, light linen suits, suspenders, or even rolled sleeves and straw hats bring a relaxed charm that suits the cottage’s slower pace.
Meaningful Traditions, Reimagined
Whether it’s an outdoor “first look” by the little school house, a family-style dinner under café lights, or s’mores by the fire pit, we believe the most memorable weddings are built around meaningful moments. The Cottage at Woodland Farm was made for lingering conversations, spontaneous dancing, and celebrations that feel personal and unfussy.
We hope this inspires you to plan a summer wedding that’s as unique and soulful as you are. From cottage garden blooms to vintage-inspired tablescapes, there’s no shortage of ways to bring your vision to life here.
And if you're dreaming up your own colorful, creative, joy-filled day, we can't wait to host you here.
